Leah Jorgensen Jean is professional winemaker, holistic nutritionist, regenerative herbal medicine grower, writer, and boy mom based in Newberg, Oregon. She grows and prepares medicinal plants for her small town herbalist community. Leah is passionate about no till and “chaos” gardening, nature/forest schooling for her child, gluten free sourdough bread making, hiking and biking with her family, quantum physics and learning about the mysteries, and researching family history and genealogy.
Before she got into the worlds of wine, nutrition, and herbalism, she graduated from Sweet Briar College for women with a degree in English Literature & Creative Writing and was published in various literary magazines and compilations for poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
She went on to write about food and wine for online and print media – including Pacific Northwest based Mix Magazine, Oregon Wine Press, Travel Oregon, Wine Press Northwest, Northwest Woman Magazine, along with Mutineer Magazine (L.A.), and she has contributed to a handful of beverage books, including the Wine Country Guidebook (C. Anderson, 2009).
She currently contributes to Botanical Anthology also available on Amazon.
Leah’s first book, The Herbalists’s Guide for the Sober Curious: 65 Garden-To-Glass Recipes published by Chartwell Books is available wherever books are sold.
Leah is currently working on a food memoir about her ancestry, a non-fiction book entitled Reclaiming the Maga (about the lesser-known archetype around feminine mid-life and menopause and Chiron Return that happens for everyone at age 49); and a science fiction novel, Water of Life.
